Virtually all first-year students choose to live in our residence halls and nearly 40% of the undergrad population lives on campus. Undergraduate Housing Overviews
Each year the University of Michigans 18 residence halls and apartments are home to more than 9,500 undergraduate students. Although there are differences that make each hall unique, all U-M residence halls include live-in staff (providing both social and academic support), community centers, on-site laundry, easy access to the free and frequent University bus system and much more.

Housing for Single Graduate Students 2016-2017
University Housing offers two distinct housing experiences for single graduate students: Northwood Community Apartments and the Munger Graduate Residences. For both, you pay directly to the University of Michigan as part of your student bill, and there is no application fee or security deposit.If you are looking to also accommodate your partner and/or children, please visit our family housing page.

Family Housing 2016-2017
University Housing offers housing for students with families and postdoctoral research fellows with families in our Northwood Community Apartments. Faculty, staff and other non-students with a University of Michigan affiliation are not eligible for University Housing and should seek off-campus housing options.

Room Board Rates 2016-2017
All residence hall rates include the Basic Unlimited Meal Plan. Students living in residence halls are required to purchase a meal plan for both Fall and Winter Terms. If you select a different meal plan, there may be an additional cost. Learn more about meal plans.

The following rates are provided to help you plan your living expenses for the coming academic year. The total rate may increase with the selection of a meal plan other than the Basic Unlimited Meal Plan.
Rates listed have been approved by the Regents and may be lower than the rate stated on your contract. Student accounts will be billed at the approved rates.
The University of Michigan Board of Regents approves final room and board rates in late June of each year. We post these rates on our website as soon as they become available.
