Position Description: The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level. Individuals engaged in cancer research, especially in the areas of cancer metabolism and/or hormone-dependent malignancies, are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to aggressively pursue extramural funding and collaborate with other faculty members in basic and clinical science departments, particularly, the University of New Mexico Cancer Center. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an independent, extramurally funded cancer research program and to participate in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology teaching mission that includes classroom and laboratory training of undergraduate, graduate, and medical students.

Minimum Requirements: 1) Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in biomedical sciences, 2) three years post-doctoral experience, 3) cancer-related publications in peer reviewed journals during the past 2 years, 4) teaching experience
