課程性質：《水平考試（一）》聽力部分是高等教育自學考試英語專業基礎課考試計劃中的一門必修課。總體水平相當于普通高等院校英語專業專科一年級結束時的聽力水平。
課程要求：
1. 能聽懂語速較慢的、以標準英美音發音的一般日常生活會話應答與基本問答、日常生活情景單組對話，以及一般背景小短文與日常生活情景片段對話。
2. 以常見句型表述，詞匯量要求在3000個詞以內。
學習書目：《英語聽力》（上下冊），何其莘等編寫，外語教學與研究出版社，1999年版。
考試安排：考試時間共20-25分鐘左右，滿分100分，共分三部分。每個問題答題時間為12秒。各題型均只讀一遍。
題量及分值
Part A 10個小題，每小題2分， 共20分
Part B 20個小題，每小題3分，共60分
Part C 10個小題，每小題2分，共20分
題型說明
Part A：一般日常生活會話情景反應與基本信息詢問。
Part B：一般日常生活單組對話理解， 辨別理解對話雙方或一方內容的基本含意、表層信息，推斷潛在信息，以及進行簡單數字運算。
Part C：本部分一般由一篇小短文與一段情景片段對話組成，每段設計5個問題。 小短文內容涉及一般背景的文化、歷史、社會生活；情景片段對話為日常生活內容。
